Sister Jean Anne Zappa, president of the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, presented the relic to Sacred Heart Schools President Dr. Karen McNay during a prayer service attended by Sacred Heart Schools and Sacred Heart Model School staff in the Brescia Hall chapel on August 30, 2024. Members of the SHMS Student Leadership Board read prayers and petitions and Principal Leah Mullen thanked the Ursuline Sisters for this most precious gift:
"Sacred Heart Model School is grateful to the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville for this gift which reminds us of our foundress, St. Angela Merici, and how her life’s work pointed directly toward Jesus. This relic,
displayed in Brescia Chapel, will continue to inspire us to prayerfully consider how our lives can look
more like that of Jesus. May we be inspired by St. Angela to live a life that is loving, gracious, and
hospitable that we might draw closer to Jesus and bring others with us."

The relic is a reminder of how St. Angela lived and expressed the life, love, and teaching of Jesus in her life to others. "Angela told her followers to be like a piazza - be warm, welcoming, a person of hospitality, and accepting everyone who comes into your life," said Sr. Jean Anne. "Let Angela be your guide and reminder of that always."
Another St. Angela relic was installed in the Chapel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel at Sacred Heart Academy in May 2024: read more here at www.shslou.org
