Students applying for Kindergarten must be five years old by August 1 of the year of entrance. Students entering Level 1 must be six years old by August 1 of the year of entrance. Applicants for Kindergarten through Level 8 should follow the steps outlined below.
Completion of Online Application and Payment of Application Fee
Applications are accepted up to two years ahead of the date of admission. SHMS offers a secure online application. Upon parent’s request, applications will be retained from year to year. In the event of wait-listed classes, parents will be notified as openings occur. You can apply here.
Additional Testing Assessments
Incoming Kindergarten and Level 1 students will be given the Gesell screening and/or the Kindergarten Readiness Test. Students transferring into other grades will be evaluated using placement tests and/or student interviews.
Required Student Records
These may include previous progress reports and standardized test scores, teacher recommendation, parent questionnaire and state-issued birth certificate.
Once an admissions decision has been determined by school leadership, the admissions director will be in contact with the family concerning next steps.
In acceptance of new students, preference is given to siblings of currently enrolled students and to siblings and children of Sacred Heart Schools graduates.
