Dr. Karen McNay, presented the Sacred Heart Schools Francesconi Award of Integrity to Mrs. Amy Olson, Director of Mission Effectiveness. The prestigious Francesconi award, presented annually, and named in honor of former Sacred Heart Schools President, Charlie Francesconi, is given to one employee who has contributed significantly to the school and Louisville community, enriches the lives of those around her by living the mission of Sacred Heart Schools, and demonstrates integrity through her daily interactions with others.
Amy has been with Sacred Heart Schools for fourteen years. She began as a preschool teacher at the Ursuline Montessori School (now Sacred Heart Preschool) in 2003 and has served as the Director of Mission Effectiveness since 2015. As the first layperson to serve in the role, Amy has broadened our community’s understanding of Saint Angela’s Charism, our connection to the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, and the importance and responsibility of continuing their mission. She made our campus Commissioning ceremonies meaningful, especially this year as we gathered in service to our community. Amy made it a priority to increase our students’ interactions with the Ursuline Sisters and ensured they were meaningful and mutually beneficial.
When asked about her time at Sacred Heart, among other things, Amy said, “I think we all know a little bit more about Saint Angela, and I love that she shows up on campus in our conversations, in-person in carpool, and on our socks. I am so grateful for my time in this role and to the Ursuline Sisters who took a chance on me.” Amy recently accepted the position of Executive Director of Nativity Academy at St. Boniface. Nativity Academy is sponsored by Bellarmine University, the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, and the Xaverian Brothers. It opened in 2003 with Sister Paula Kleine-Kracht, OSU, serving as the first executive director.

“Amy has been the embodiment of the Ursuline Core Values from the time I’ve known her here at SHS. I met her as a teacher at SHP where she was wonderful with young children and a great role model for teaching with compassion and integrity. As she shifted to her roles in Administration, Amy has led the whole campus by example through her work in Mission Effectiveness. She is someone that inspires others to lead with community, reverence, leadership, and service. Amy walks the walk.”
