Arts Integration
As one of four schools on the Ursuline Campus, Sacred Heart Model School students benefit from integrated arts classes provided by the seasoned instructors at Sacred Heart School for the Arts (SHSA).
Not only is it fun to draw, paint, sculpt, act, sing, and make music, but studies show that the arts help students become more creative and self-expressive and to develop critical problem-solving skills. Our Arts Exploration Program enables Model School students to take a range of visual and performing arts classes connected to the units of inquiry studied in the classroom.
All Kindergarten through Level 5 students have a weekly visual art class with our SHMS art teacher and a trimester or semester course through Sacred Heart School for the Arts. Students in Levels 6 – 8 take one trimester of visual art and two trimesters of drama, dance, or music.
